About the Painting:
Ballybunion's 11th was painted by our homie Joshua Davis, a Raleigh-based art teacher who is almost as addicted to creating as he is teeing it.
"Ballybunion is the first course I’d played where any idea of course architecture started to click in my brain and influence the way I approached a golf hole. A ton of research prior to my trip and being somewhat in control of my golf ball helped me to have my eyes open for what I would see that day. The 11th was my favorite and, apparently, was Tom Watson’s too. Some of my best shots of the day resulted in a tough 2 putt par from off the front of the green. As I walked up the hill to the next tee, I looked back and questioned both club selections I’d made. I immediately wanted to play it again, but losing focus on what’s in front of you will get you playing out of the thick stuff left of a dune beside 12 green if you aren’t careful. Ask me how I know. I really wanted to make an honest painting of an enlightening course I was lucky enough to play. This place changed the way I thought about golf.
I modeled the composition after Rothko’s color field abstractions. Like my walk at Ballybunion, my first exposure to Rothko was illuminating. It was the first time I’d stood in front of an abstract and felt the weight of the artist in front of me. It’s all in front of you, but the longer you look, the more you see and feel. It’s truth."
Order Processing and Shipping Times:
We design + print everything in-house! For orders involving framing, standard production is 7-14 business days before shipping. All items are set in handcrafted frames by our local framing partner in North Carolina. For all other orders, our standard production time is 2-3 business days before shipping.
We ship from Raleigh, NC. West Coast customers can expect 3-5 days shipping, East Coast customers 2-3 days.
International Shipping:
International shipping costs are volatile in current markets and sometimes may be higher than what was originally calculated/charged. We will contact you if this is the case and reserve the right to adjust your order if need be. Due to high shipping costs, framed prints are not able to be shipped internationally.
Standard production time is 2-3 days on printed goods. Due to customs, shipping time + tracking for international orders is out of our control once it leaves the US, and we are not able to see updates on our end.
Please be aware, local customs may charge additional import fees/duties for you to receive your package. We do not have insight into what this may be as it varies country by country. Be sure to contact your local postal service provider to learn of their fees, policies and regulations before purchasing if you are outside the US.
Return Policy:
We stand behind our quality + craftsmanship. Our packaging is designed to deliver our products and artwork to you damage-free (but sometimes shipping carriers are rough!). Please take care when unboxing to avoid damage when flattening or removing. We recommend keeping your prints in their original packaging until they are ready to frame. If your order arrives damaged, please document with photos and email us -- we will work with you on a replacement.
If you are unhappy with your order within 30 days of purchase for any reason, we will work with you to gather feedback and do our best to make it right. We want you to be stoked with your purchase and to connect golf + home!
We do not accept returns or exchanges on custom artwork due to the mutual approval process as well as the time and materials required for design and production on our end.
